Use the Show Markup tool to select which changes you want Word to show.Note: ( Don’t select Accept All Changes in Document that would accept all the changes whether they are shown or not.) All the formatting changes will then be accepted. You will see a few options, both highlighted and dulled. Click the arrow on the Accept icon (in the Changes group).
Clear all the ticked options except the Formatting option. Learn how to use Track Changes in Microsoft Word, including insertions, deletions, format changes, and comments, as well as accepting and rejecting other rev.You will then see some ticked options in a drop-down menu. Click the Show Markup tool button (in the Tracking group).
If your markup only appears in balloons or doesn’t appear at all, please see the bonus section below for the steps to show Track Changes in-line. Also, comments appear in the margin to the right of the document. Track Changes colors appear in-line (i.e., in the text) rather than in balloons or the Reviewing pane. The corrections appear as highlighted text in a different color than the original version. The Microsoft Word Track Changes function allows a user to view all amendments made to an original document. One document came to me that was nearly 100 pages long.
Recently, we’ve had to update older documents.
Track Changes makes it easy to locate and see exactly what changes they’ve made. It’s especially useful when I’m working with a client and they have revisions to make to documents. If you are writing a document that will subsequently be corrected by a tutor, peer, colleague, or professional editor, it is more than likely that person will use Track Changes to facilitate these revisions. It’s great I use it in Word all the time.
